Powell’s Market has sold building
The building that housed Powell’s Market & Quick Deli at 3602 Lafayette Blvd. in Spotsylvania County sold earlier this month, and the business is moving.
Danny Patel and his family built the 7,400-square-foot structure in 2008. For the past few years it has been home to the market and deli.
The family also has another business, Powell’s Friendly Market, a couple of blocks away at 3910 Lafayette Blvd. That business, which bills itself as having the “world’s best” hot dogs, will remain open.
The newer, larger building at 3602 Lafayette Blvd. was purchased earlier this month by Stafford County-based Midland Property Group LLC for $670,000, according to Spotsylvania property records.
The Patels on Monday were moving the business out of the building that sold. Today will be the last day for that business, Danny Patel said.
The Patels have leased a 1,600-square-foot space at 2601 Salem Church Road in Spotsylvania for a business called Powell’s Quick Daily that they plan to open by the end of April. They plan to serve some of the same lunch menu items.
The new location is at The Shoppes at Salem Run shopping center. Johnson Realty Advisors is handling leasing at the center.
