HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Panthers, Patriots boys soccer finish tied

Abdoulie Wadda and Jordan Stretch had goals to help Massaponax’s boys soccer team forge a 2–2 Commonwealth District tie against Albemarle on Friday.

Wadda also had an assist, and Pedram Bahramipanah had a solid day for the Panthers (2–0–1), who host Mountain View on Monday.

BOYS SOCCER

RIVERBEND 3, COLONIAL FORGE 0

Elliot Makris had two goals and Ben Gallik a third, as the Bears broke a scoreless halftime tie.

Brandan Hurlinger had two assists and Stephen Newhall also had an assist, and Tim Wondree was in goal for the shutout for the Bears (2–0), who play at Orange on Monday.

Colonial Forge (0–2–1) plays at Stafford on Monday.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 3, NORTH STAFFORD 0

Omar Munoz led Mountain View with two goals, and Matt Spencer collected his second shutout of the season.

Paul Appiah also scored for Mountain View (2–0), which plays at Massaponax on Monday.

Phil Nestor had two goals and Danny Martinez had a goal and an assist for Brooke Point’s first win of the season.

Matt Garlington also scored and Chandler Cowell had an assist for Brooke Point (1–2), which plays at Colonial Forge next Wednesday.

CHANCELLOR 3, CHARLOTTESVILLE 1

Jacob Burked had two goals and an assist and Jason Umanzor made six saves—including several crucial stops late in the game—to help Chancellor improve to 2–0 for the first time since 2006.

Colin Urquhart also had a goal and Kaleb Lusczek and Jared Clemens had assists.

The Chargers play at King George next Friday.

Jack Giscard had three goals and Cory Miller made six saves in goal for Stafford, in a Commonwealth District home win.

Jake Jones, Leathan Hopkins and Justin Williams also had goals for the Indians.

Jared Flamm had two goals and two assists, and goalie Dorien Thomas registered 21 saves Courtland’s club team.
