Teacher held without bond in Orange case
Locust Grove Middle School teacher Robert Jeffrey Kobman was denied bond in his latest court hearing, and is scheduled to return to court for a hearing Monday on child pornography charges.
Kobman, 32, has been held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail since his arrest in May. He was originally charged with 20 felony counts of possession of child pornography, with one additional charge of assault and battery and an additional 31 child pornography charges added during his incarceration.
The technology teacher was placed on administrative leave when the Orange County School System received notification of the charges against him.
Kobman is being represented by attorney Daniel Hawes, and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing July 8 at 3 p.m. in the Orange County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
