Eagles men set record in topping of Bison

For the third time this season, the University of Mary Washington men's basketball team broke the school record for three pointers in a game, hitting 20 on 41 attempts as the Eagles defeated Capital Athletic Conference rival Gallaudet 97-53 at Goolrick Gymnasium yesterday.
After the Bison took a 17-9 lead, the Eagles outscored Gallaudet 31-13 to take 43-30 halftime lead and never look back.
Matt Hale and Justin Baker led UMW with 16 points apiece, while Ben Stokes scored 15 and Mike Lee.
The Eagles broke the school mark of 18 three-pointers in a game, set this season at home against Hood College and equaled at Frostburg State last Thursday.
The Eagles (10-3) visit Goucher College Wednesday in another CAC contest.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Sarah Flanagan scored a game-high 13 points and Lisa Tracy added 10 points and eight rebounds to pace the 19th-ranked Eagle women to a 77-26 win over Gallaudet yesterday at Goolrick Gymnasium.
The Eagles limited Gallaudet to just nine first half points, including four field goals, and outscored the Bisons, 41-17, in the second half.
Liz Hickey added nine points and three blocked shots and Leigh Kampman had six points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, winners of seven straight.
The Eagles (11-2, 3-1 CAA) will visit Goucher College Wednesday. Game time is 5:30 pm.
SWIMMING
The Eagles men's and women's swimming teams easily dispatched St. Mary's (Md.) College yesterday. The men finished 122-74 and the women won comfortably, 104-81.
